Just a look at what I'm working on as far as a theme for kev,
I decided to mock up the SMF Curve theme so he could feel a bit comfortable with his mods and such.
Remember, this is in the works... haven't put a lot of time or thought into it yet...

haha cool dont know what it would look like or even if it can be done but lets say a RED ball for all topic icons and if there is a new post in that topic the red ball changes to yellow to indicate new post
Does that make sense lol not sure if it can be done and as said above what would it look like silly maybe ?
